Kate Winslet as a famous actress was born in Reading, England, on October 5, 1975 and is the second of four children. Her natural hair is reddish blonde and her eyes are blue. It measures 1.72m and weights around 57 kilos. According to NWS Kate Winslet measurements are 37-26-36 Inches.
Kate’s family consists of her mother Sally, her father Roger (actor), her older sister Anna (actress), her younger sister Beth (actress) and her brother Joss, the youngest of all. She claims to be extremely close to her family, especially her mother, Sally.
Kate Winslet’s Career
Kate’s first acting job was dancing with Honey Monster in a commercial for Sugar Puffs cereal. She won a Grammy for best talking album for children in 2000. She is the youngest actress to be nominated for two Academy Awards (for Sense and Sensibility (1995) and Titanic (1997) in 1998. She Nominated for best supporting actress, Awarded the Manchester Evening News Award for her role in “What the Butler Saw.” She won the Best British Actress Award from Empire Magazine for Heavenly Creatures (1994).
Kate is separated from Jim Threapleton, assistant director of her film “Hideous Kinky.” They had been together since August 1997, but it wasn’t until February 1998 that Jim moved into Kate’s apartment. Before getting married (on November 22, 1998 at All Saints’ Church in Reading, England), Kate shared a flat in North London with the makeup artist. MelGibson who worked on “Jude” and third assistant director Emma Johns, who worked on “Celestial Creatures.”
Kate’s Family
Looking at Kate’s family history, it is known that she was predestined to be an actress. Although her grandfather was a dentist, she and her grandmother (Oliver and Linda Bridges) ran the Reading Repertory Theater, which had 60 seats and was located in the courtyard of the house. On October 12, 2000, their first daughter, Mia Honey Threapleton, was born. Kate has stated that she wants more children because she loves children. Early Age of Kate:
At the age of 11, Kate was attending Redroofs Drama School which she would drop out after completing her studies at the age of 16. Her first job was an appearance in a commercial for Sugar Puffs cereals, dancing with the Honey Monster.
Coming from a family of good cooks and great eaters, Kate seems to continually struggle with weight problems that brought her down to 150 pounds at age 16. When she was in Redroofs her nickname was “Blubber” (blubber); but she decided to change her appearance after the director of “Anglo Saxon Attitudes” commented on the resemblance between Kate and the woman who acted like her mother, the one who weighed 136 kilos.
She is grateful to the Weight Watchers for helping her lose over 23 kilos, a program she participated in with her mother. She admits that she carries a photo of herself at the age of 16 in her wallet as a memento so things don’t get out of control again.
In 1991, eight days after graduation, she landed a role in “Get Back”, a British television comedy, and was there for two seasons. In addition to “Get Back”, Kate worked in several dramas and television series in Great Britain: “Shrinks” (1988), “Casualty” (1989), “Dark Season” (1991) and “Anglo-Saxon Attitudes” (1993 ). Kate also rose to the charts as Pandora in the musical “Adrian Mole”, Wendy in “Peter Pan”, Sarah in “A Game of Soldier” and Geraldine in ” 1999) that it was her ex-boyfriend and friend Stephen Tredre who gave her the book Hideous Kinky years ago and it was he who also encouraged her to participate in the film.
